2021 Spring Gala Q & A
What Is the Avalon~Brookewood Spring Gala: A Black Tie Knight?
The Spring Gala is an annual event that brings the Avalon and Brookewood communities together for our most exciting fundraiser of the year. The 2021 Gala will be held virtually on Friday, May 14, featuring prerecorded songs and skits by our students and teachers, as well as a live-stream auction and Paddles Up!* donations in support of our schools. The Gala will be preceded by an online Silent Auction featuring Teachers’ Treasures opening at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, May 7 and concluding the evening of our virtual Gala celebration on the 14th.

How do I register and participate in these events? What is the cost?
The registration fee is $50 and allows you to participate in the online Silent Auction beginning May 7, donate directly to the Gala, and access to the live-stream event on May 14 including participation in the live auction and Paddles Up! donations, and the student-teacher musical revue.
The $50 fee is for each user. A household may register once for $50. If there will be multiple users, we suggest that more than one person register per household to encourage simultaneous online (and more fun!) bidding!
Do I receive a ticket and a bid number when I register?
There is no formal ticket. When you register online with our Greater Giving site, your payment will be processed, you will receive a confirmation receipt, and you will set-up an account for the Silent Auction and Spring Gala.

How do I make a donation, bid on silent and live auction items, and participate in Paddles Up live donations during the virtual event?
When you register for this event, please save your credit card on our secure Greater Giving server so that you can make a donation, sponsor an advertisement, bid on the online auction, and participate in the live auction and Paddles Up! donations during the event. If you are the lucky winner of a silent auction item, the credit card on file will be charged at the end of the event on May 14. For more information on how to sponsor and advertisement please email avalonschoolparents@gmail.com.
Is the cost of my auction purchase tax deductible?
When applicable, you will receive a statement from the school for each winning bid that exceeds the estimated value of the item.
My child is participating in the Gala revue. Must I register for the Gala to see the show?
Yes, if you would like to see your child’s performance, you must register to attend the virtual Gala.
I cannot attend but would like to support our school! Are there ways to do so?
Yes! Please consider participating as an Auction Angel or Event Sponsor.
Auction Angels and Event Sponsors make a monetary donation to specifically offset the cost of the Gala. Please indicate your Angel or Sponsor donation on our Greater Giving site when you register.
